Objectives

  • Impart primary education to 6,67,244 out-of-school children (aged 04–14 years), through establishment of 12,019 Non Formal Basic Education Schools
  • Impart literacy (basic reading, writing, arithmetic & life-skills) to 1,504,752 illiterate adults (aged 18 – 55 years), through establishment of 8,486 ALCs

  • Current enrolment of children 394,773 learners
  • Mainstreamed: 170,967 learners
  • Dropout: 110,461 learners
  • PEC pass out: 40,487 learners
  • Literacy in jails(238 Centres 2018-19): 4,801 prisoners
  • Literacy and skills for transgender: 60 eunuchs
  • Incentivizing Brick Kiln learners: 6,344 learners
  • Literacy in minority (143 ALCs): 2,573 learners
  • New Enrolment Campaign 2018: 26,708 learners
  • NFEI Management Committees (2018-19): 11,831 NFEIMCs

Exit Strategy

Third Party Evaluation of the project is at final stages of completion. Exit strategy will be as per recommendations of TPE.
